As we step into 2026, we want to pause—lantern in hand—and offer our deepest thanks.

The past year has not been without its challenges. Between a busy and competitive town, unpredictable New England weather, and the realities of running small, independent tours rooted in history and integrity, the path forward is never guaranteed. What has remained constant is this: we rely fully on our guests, our community, and our grassroots support to keep us going.

Every ticket booked, every recommendation shared, every kind word spoken has allowed Seaside Shadows not only to endure, but to continue paving the way for meaningful, story-driven haunted history. Quite simply, without you, we would not be here welcoming 2026.

And what a year it promises to be.

All 2026 tickets are now live, with new events currently in development and exciting experiences on the horizon. We’re especially looking forward to a special Fireside Folklore Night at the Daniel Packer Inne on January 30—an intimate evening of stories and atmosphere. (Please contact the restaurant directly for dinner reservations.)

February brings one of our most beloved limited offerings:
My Bloody Valentine: A Love Lost to Mystic, a lantern-lit haunted history tour exploring the darker origins of Valentine’s Day—massacres, star-crossed lovers, ancient rituals, broken promises, and the ghosts that linger long after romance fades.

This year, fate aligns in the most unsettling way: Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday, immediately following Friday the 13th, making February a month steeped in superstition and misfortune.

For those new to our lanternlight, Seaside Shadows is the original haunted history tour in Mystic, Connecticut, proudly guiding since 2013, and the original haunted history tour in Westerly, Rhode Island, since 2021. From the very beginning, our mission has been to tell true history steeped in folklore, legend, and lived experience—long before haunted walks became commonplace. Every tour we offer is built on years of research, community relationships, and a deep respect for the stories and places that shaped these towns.
